I've been spending alot of time browsing on Pinterest lately and found this easy recipe for making your own liquid hand soap..on
familyoffarmers.blogspot.com/2011/11/liquid-hand-soap-diy.html so thought I'd give it a try. They called for using an 8 oz. bar of soap so I picked up a big bar of lavender shea soap at Big Lots for $1.00, mixed it with the water and let it set for the recommended time and it was pretty well gelled, so per instructions I added a bit more water and whipped it in with my mixer.... and all in all turned out well!

I ended up getting a gallon & a half from the one bar of soap! Very thrifty in my book! I know some of you are pinching your pennies so thought this was a good one to share:) I've been busy finishing up Christmas shopping, almost done, and on the count down for the kids to come....18 days!!!! My DIL is sick with a terrible cold so please send some healing thoughts her way so she is all better for the long flight and I hope little Tyler doesn't get it! Hope you are all getting all your shopping/wrapping/running around done as well and thanks for visiting!
I'm going to try this!!! Thanks for the info. Hope your daughter in law gets better soon!

ReplyDeleteEveryone has colds right now but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe by the time Christmas gets here everyone will have had it and be better.
Hope your DIL gets well quick and that none of the rest of them catch it.
Thanks for the link, Carmen, and yes I am for saving money. Great deal. praying for your dil.
ReplyDeleteI know you're really getting excited!

That's a great idea. Does it stay emulsified?
ReplyDeleteI hope your DIL gets better soon and the baby stays well,
You are going to have a great Christmas!!
Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. You are so creative my friend!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone notice when you buy your hand soap from a store it does not get too soapy. They cut down on those hand soaps sold in the northeast for Environmental reasons, so it now takes more water in getting your dishes and plates clean. Makes no sense to me to be honest just like ethanol makes no sense to me using it for our cars. Richard from Amish Stories
ReplyDeleteThanks! I want to try this!
